Counseling for Anxious Attachment

Is anxiety taking over your life? Do you try to manage it by seeking reassurance and people pleasing just to feel okay?

If this sounds like you, you might struggle with anxiety and/or anxious attachment patterns.

Here's what I mean:

These are common symptoms of anxiety:

  • Nervousness, restlessness or being tense
  • Feelings of danger, panic or dread
  • Difficulty focusing or thinking clearly about anything other than the thing you’re worried about

You may particularly find yourself with these anxious feelings regarding your relationships.

These are common patterns of anxious attachment:

  • Spending too much time worrying about the relationship or about your partner's feelings
  • Reassurance-seeking and an intense need to feel close
  • People-pleasing and/or over-functioning (doing more than your fair share)
  • Difficulty trusting or feeling safe with others
  • Strong, intense reactions to the threat of rejection or abandonment

Anxious attachment is not a personality flaw. It's a survival strategy.

I help clients gently process early experiences that shaped their nervous systems and self-beliefs towards anxiety. Together, we untangle patterns of over-functioning, fear of conflict, difficulty setting boundaries, and the lingering sense that your worth is tied to what you provide for others.

We focus on strengthening self-trust and developing boundaries without guilt. Over time, you'll feel calmer, more confident, and less responsible for everyone else’s feelings.

It is possible to be both kind and boundaried.

You deserve relationships where you don’t have to earn your place.

You deserve rest without guilt.

You deserve to take up space.

If you’re ready to move from survival to security, I offer virtual therapy throughout Ohio and provide a free 15-minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit.

If you struggle with anxiety, I invite you to contact me today for a 15-minute consultation.
